About

Options food for your brain. We are here to level the playing field for all players. To help you see the markets like the the big players do. We also consume this data as well so we know what data is meaningful and what is useless. We are big proponents of the Black–Scholes model and all things pricing and statistical when it comes to options. At the end of the day, the market is nothing more that one giant statistical model with 1, 2, and maybe 3 standard deviation moves on any given expiration.

Data

All data is updated every hour on the hour throughout the market open starting at 10:00am EST and ending at 5:00pm EST and delayed. Open Interest is only updated once a day at market open. Volume changes are reflected throughout the day. We try our best to make sure the data is as clean as possible but we understand that certain things are out of our control. So, with that in mind, we suggest you validate what you see on our site with other financial websites. This will ensure the accuracy of the data you are seeing on our site.

Open Interest

Open interest represents the contracts that are still open at any given strike for a given security. For a better explanation, visit Investopedia.

Maximum Pain

Maximum Pain Theory stipulates that buyers of options, who hold the option contract until expiration, will stand to lose money. Another great explanation can be found here Investopedia.
